Dreamcatcher title sequence
I liked this title sequence as it's simple yet has many aspects that can relate to our own film and what we could use in ours. The establishing shot that is used to open the sequence could be used in our own title sequence as we could establish the situation we are all in. The black background looks eerie and supports our film too as it's also a psychological thriller. Dreamcatcher has some dark aspects to it, which so does our film. As this title sequence is pretty simple, it will be easy to create and alter if necessary. The images that are shown are also quite negative images, that are monster like, we could use the same sort of images to show the theme of the film.
The font of the cast looks edgy and stands out on the black background. The way zoom is used to promote whats on the screen is simple yet effective, which we could use in our own. All the smokey images relates to our theme of drugs and foreshadows what's going to happen in the film and the future scenes that are going to be shown e.g the scene where beth takes a drag from the cigarette and blows the smoke out. We could also use illusions within ours, as psychological thrillers are often based around how things appear simple to the eye, but can be looked into more deeply. Some films have credits that go on for the first 10 minutes to show the importance of the cast, and that the characters are important. Also this appeals to the audience as they get to find out every detail behind the production of the film. However, as our film is an independent film the actual content and morals will appeal more to an audience.
