Dark Knight's viral campaign was different in ways that they advertised the newspaper, voting for Harvey Dent as the mayor and clown websites for the jokes minions. I liked the newspaper because it was very realistic in terms of content and shows parts of the film but at the time people didn't know what was really talking about. The news paper followed the dame format of having an actual tittle, front page story and photos. The New York times has the same tittle font and layout to make the viral newspaper the same.

Then the company played around with this to make a bigger viral campaign.
Monsters inc. is releasing a new film called monsters university. For this they created a website for the university with no definite show of the film as it only gives away the actual university. I like this because it is aimed at people who where at the age of when the film first came out then as it is about 10 years later the children would now be applying for university and the film isn't really aimed at children but young adults as it is an animated and certificate U version of films like Road Trip, Save By The Bell college and Accepted.

The Blare Witch Project viral advertising campaign was good as it showed missing photos of the people in the film. I think this is close to my viral advertising because in my film I want to use a news program of Chloe being missing/ dead. She would be missing to the family of her because they didn't know she died and to Lola, Beth and Anna that she has died so it would be showing family photos of her and statements her parents have said.
For our advertising campaign we would need to use the green screen and have a photo of Barnsley in the back ground. The news program would be called "South Yorkshire Headlines" this makes it sounds believable. The new program will start with headlines of the day, then focus on the headline of Chloe missing. Statements such as " Chloe please come home, we miss you darling" will feature of a statement at the bottom and we could use tweets from people about Chloe going missing.
A thriller film that did viral advertising as a news program was US Cloverfield advert.
