We designed a questionnaire to ask a potential audience about our film. We asked twelve people to complete the questionnaire.

For the first question, the answers were split - six people said mainstream while the other six said niche. This shows that our two minute opening on paper isn't very clear as to whether it is targeted at a big audience or a small audience. Our film is actually designed for a niche audience as we don't have enough money to create a mainstream film.
With our second question the variation in results in quite troublesome; this means that we may have to adjust out script to make the age certification of the film clearer. The age we were actually aiming for was 15, as the film contains drug use and disturbing images.
The last question was answered quite similarly by all participants - something bad happens next. Five out of the 12 answers say that someone will die (mainly the main character who passes out at the end; Beth). This isn't what happens next, however it is right in some way - one character does supposedly die (according to our main storyline).
Our film is supposed to be a psychological thriller, however no one referred to an element of a psychological thriller at all (for example, hallucinations or the fight against ones own mind; fighting against insanity). This shows that we may need to make the psychological aspect of the film known within the first two minutes we are creating - to give the audience a better idea of where the story may go. To do this, we have decided to use a subtly use the television in the first shot to do this. While the character Chloe is watching tv, a psychological thriller will be playing to hint at the genre of our film. Also will be a shot of different psychological thrillers or a reference to the films during the beginning.
